Select nighttime offerings will begin at Disney’s Animal Kingdom April 27. 
The park has already changed their hours, and will remain open until 11 everyday for the foreseeable future (calendar marked through July 2).
Starting Memorial Day Weekend, the party comes out as soon as the sun goes down. Guests will be able to enjoy: a NEW musical celebration revolving around the live-action Jungle Book, multiple parties in the streets, dinner at Tiffins as well as a Tree of Life transformation. The Kilimanjaro Safaris under the stars, Kali Rivers Rapids after sunset, DinoLand after dark as well as a pitch-dark pass through Nepal in search of a Yeti during Expedition Everest.
The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic is a stop-gap offering until Rivers of Light is fully functional. Discovery River will host both shows. This temporary offering will feature music and other movie-inspired elements celebrating the new live-action movie directed by Jon Favreau. Without a scheduled debut date for Rivers of Light… make sure you get out and see this before it’s over.
“The Tree of Life Awakens” will showcase a transformation of the park’s icon like never seen before. I hate to be redundant, but the Tree of Life will undergo an “awakening” where guests will see animal spirits come to life through magical fireflies. Those lights will progressively get brighter, eventually illuminating the whole tree with various colors and special effects.
The parties in the street mentioned earlier include Discovery Island Carnivale and the Harambe Wildlife Parti. Over in Discovery Island, guests can dance the night away with stilt walkers, indulge in cultural food, or just sit back and enjoy the music. Over at the Wildlife Parti, night owls can grab some drinks, listen to African tunes and explore the marketplace under the streetlights.
Fine-palate eaters are going to love this one; the highly anticipated Tiffin’s will finally be opening along with everything else. This will be the park’s newest dining destination and will be open for both lunch and dinner. Nestled into Discovery Island, Tiffin’s will prepare food from all over the globe. The restaurant is expected to put guests on sensory overload. Visually stunning artwork from traveling across the world will be on display in the dining rooms; and the exotics smells and tastes of this adventurous cuisine will surely draw a crowd. Some items on the dinner menu include: Berbere-Spiced Lamb Chop with Mustard Greens, Lentil Stew and Mint Chutney from Africa, Berkshire Pork Tenderloin with Huitlacoche Tamale, Homin Succotash and Red Mole Sauce from South America and Miso-glazed Black Cod with Forbidden Rice in Steamed Bok Choy with Turmeric Sauce from Asia. If that doesn’t draw you in, maybe the fact that they’ll be serving organic wines, one-of-a-kind cocktails and beer with those lavish meals.
Many of the nighttime attractions will be the same at night as they are in the daytime.. except for Kilimanjaro Safaris. Once the sun goes down, the animal will come out. Beloved favorite like lions and giraffes will still be out, but there will be special nighttime-exclusive animals roaming the savanna; hyenas and African dogs.
