Live-Action ‘Aladdin’ Casts Villain, Creates New Role for Reboot

Weeks after finding out the leads for Disney’s live-action Aladdin, the studios casts the film’s villain.

Marwan Kenzari is coming to the big screen as the sinister Jafar.

The Dutch-Tunisian actor has played in Ben-Hur, The Mummy and Murder on the Orient Express.



Walt Disney Studios has also confirmed the Aladdin remake will also have a new role: Mara.

Mara is a handmaiden and friend of Princess Jasmine.

Former Saturday Night Live star Nasim Pedrad will be taking on the comedic role specially written for this new movie.
