Last month we told you about Sohni, one of the tigers at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, giving birth to a pair of cubs– and now we’re just learning that one is male & the other is a female.
Both cubs weighed in at about 12 pounds when they were born. Disney’s animal experts say they continue to grow at a rapid rate.
The tigers were bred through the Species Survival Plan, which is overseen by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and ensures responsible breeding and diverse populations of threatened and endangered species.
The tiger cubs will remain backstage for the next few months before guests will be able to see them on Maharajah Jungle Trek.
