Work on Toy Story 4 is underway after a brief scare in the Pixar studios due to John Lasseter’s leave of absence.

Stephany Folsom will be scripting the sequel.

Lasseter’s removal for sexual misconduct led to a chain reaction within the studios. Rashina Jones and Will McCormack were initially supposed to work on the script, left shortly after Lasseter.

In a report with CNN, Jones claims their step-down from the project had nothing to do with the recent sexual misconduct allegations… but instead, cited creative and philosophical differences with the company.

Now, Stephany Folsom is getting her chance. Toy Story 4 will be her first major project.  However, she’s appeared on The Black List in 2013 for her original screenplay 1969: A Space Odyssey, or How Kubrick Learned to Stop Worrying and Land on the Moon.
Stephany Folsom confirmed that she’s working on the movie on Twitter:

There is no release date projection for Toy Story 4.
