Disneyland Paris is the next international Disney Park to get a major upgrade.
A little more than a year after Hong Kong Disneyland announces a multi-billion dollar, multi-year plan to add Marvel and Frozen-themed lands to the resort, Disneyland Paris follows suit and will also be implementing a Star Wars expansion.
Disney CEO Bob Iger made the major announcement after meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Iger says the money going into revitalizing Disneyland Paris shows the company’s confidence in both parks.
“The resort is already the leading tourist destination in Europe, and the transformative expansion we announced today will add even more of our beloved characters and unparalleled storytelling to create new lands, attractions and entertainment that further elevate the guest experience and drive new opportunities for tourism in this dynamic region.”

President Macron immediately showed excitement for the future of Disneyland Paris.
The multi-year process will roll out in phases, starting with the expansion of Walt Disney Studios Park in 2021.
With no timeline… we do know that Walt Disney Studios Park will be transforming Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster into an Iron Man-themed coaster and the park’s current Toy Story area will be getting the same Alien Swirling Saucers attraction as Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.
A closer look at concept are shows multiple buildings in the Marvel area, a similar Star Wars expansion to Hollywood Studios and Disneyland and a larger Frozen expansion than what Hong Kong Disneyland is getting, which is scheduled to open in 2020.
There is no final date for when all of the projects will be complete, but expect upgrades for Walt Disney Studios Park to happen rapidly.
