The first trailer for Mary Poppins Returns, which first aired during the Oscars, starts off with an underlying depression-era score with a kite flittering in the wind.
Lin-Manuel Miranda makes an appearance as Lamplighter Jack in the 95-second preview, attempting to fly the kite first seen during the intro.
The camera then cuts to the sky, where Nanny Poppins floats into the scene. Mr. Banks then says: “Mary Poppins, it is wonderful to see you.”
“Yes it is, isn’t it?” Poppins responds.
Walt Disney Studios also released the movie’s first teaser poster:
Mary Poppins Returns, also starring Dick Van Dyke, Colin Firth, Angela Lansbury and Meryl Streep, hits theaters this Christmas.
