Votes Needed For LEGO to Adopt “Steamboat Willie” Toy Concept

Steamboat Willie LEGO
Steamboat Willie
, the first fully-synchronized sound cartoon, is gaining traction in the toy world.

A new concept from a LEGO fan is gathering support via “LEGO Ideas” to turn the concept into a mass-produced toy.

“… as an animator and a Lego fan I’d like to pay my respect to that marvelous production, which since was created then inspired a lot of talented artists.

Because Disney Minifigures arrived, I have the luck to create a Mickey Mouse related set with him as well. In addition I repaint the figure to match the original 1928’s appearance.

The model designed to be tiny, easy to build and playable. You can put Mickey Mouse inside the boat also you can play with the cranes.” – Szabomate90, Creator

The set consists of 156 bricks, all of which are black, white or gray.

Here’s a closer look at the concept:

After garnering support from thousands of people, the creator (who can also be found on Facebook: I Am Your Father Lego Ideas) added a Minnie Mouse figurine to the set.

The project needs support from 10,000 people before LEGO takes a look at it. From that point, LEGO then must approve the concept and will then start mass-producing the set for stores across the nation.

You can support the project at LEGO Ideas.
