BREAKING: Disney’s Streaming Service to be Called ‘Disney Play’

As Disney moves forward with creating its landmark streaming service and cutting deals with other providers, we’re learning the brand will be called Disney Play.

Disney will be severing ties with Netflix and will begin providing exclusive content for the new service set to launch in 2019.

Theatrical movies will move to the streaming service before being available on any other network starting with Captain Marvel and following movies like Dumbo, Toy Story 4, The Lion King, Lady and the Tramp, a new Star Wars installment and more.

Disney will avoid pulling Disney-owned and Fox-owned content from existing streaming video on demand and international licensing deals.
