BREAKING: Hong Kong Disneyland Closes Ahead of Typhoon Mangkhut

A major storm is brewing east of Asia, preventing Hong Kong Disneyland from opening on Sunday September 16.

Typhoon Mangkhut is one of the most severe systems projected throughout this global storm season and has put more than a million people in danger in eastern parts of Asia and the Philippines.

As of Saturday night EST, it’s killed 14 people and is as strong as a category 5 hurricane as it slams into Asia’s coast.

Hong Kong sent out this message for guests:

Due to the inclement weather, Hong Kong Disneyland is closed for the day. Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre will remain closed until further notice. Please check the website and our Facebook page for the latest information. Please see the Weather Arrangement details.

When the park closes due to inclement weather, guests can keep their ticket and exchange it for a new one to use within 6 months from the severe weather event.

Hong Kong Disneyland will continue to monitor the storm and could extend closures if necessary.
