Walt Disney World’s first-ever Mickey Mouse ride-through attraction was originally slated to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019.
Now, we’re learning the opening date has been pushed back all the way to Spring 2020.
Disney’s delay announcement coincided with the unveiling of plans to bring the same attraction to Toontown at Disneyland.
Disneyland’s version will open in 2022.
Here’s what we know about Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway:
The Mickey-themed attraction will feature brand-new 2 1/2D technology where guests will be able to see images in 3D without glasses.
The ride takes place inside a Mickey mouse cartoon short, where guests onboard the train experience “surprising twists and turns” as they encounter characters such as Goofy, says Parks & Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek.
This will be the first Mickey Mouse-themed ride and will feature it’s own original theme song.
