Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame is making box office history in China, the world’s second-biggest film market in day one.
It premiered on Wednesday, two days ahead of the U.S. debut.
Avengers: Endgame racked up a mind-blowing $107.2 million on its first day of release in China, including a record $28.2 million in midnight previews, according to an early estimate from Disney.
The huge total sets a new single-day record for the China market, eclipsing local blockbuster Monster Hunt 2’s $85 million bow last year.
The film also accounted for 99% of all movie tickets sold in China on Wednesday.
In conclusion, Avengers: Endgame is poised to shatter most box office records throughout the week.
