Disney is updating future plans for the opening of the marquee attraction “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance” at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
This is the second ride set to open in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on both coasts– which we’re now learning will open later than expected in California.
At Walt Disney World, the attraction will open December 5, 2019.
At Disneyland, it will open January 17, 2020. Back in March of 2019, it was expected that Disneyland’s version would open by the end of 2019.
Here’s a brief description of the storyline:
When it opens, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will blur the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren.
Disney claims the attraction is one of the most technologically complex attractions it has ever pulled off.
