Walt Disney World is stepping in to help a Central Florida high school rebuild after tragedy.
The company donated $20,000 to a Lake County high school band, which lost much of its equipment in a fire at East Ridge High School in Clermont earlier this month.
The building housed not only instruments owned by the school, but instruments owned by students.
On Friday, Walt Disney World Resort officials presented the $20,000 donation to the school so the band could have its equipment by the next football game Sept. 27.
“When we heard the news, we knew we needed to offer our support to East Ridge High School and help make the students’ dream of restoring the band program come true. We have been so inspired by the community response and are delighted to be part of making a difference.”
