Frozen’s “Let It Go” Earns Spot on Billboard’s ‘Songs of the Decade’ List

Billboard is celebrating the 2010s with essays on the 100 songs that they feel most define the decade.

Frozen was arguably Disney’s biggest hit of the decade, and the movie starring Elsa, Anna & Olaf jumped into the hearts of people around the globe with a flurry of catchy tunes.

The most popular? “Let It Go”:

The song is performed by Idina Menzel, who voices Elsa. It depicts the Ice Queen letting herself free and growing as a person. The song was penned by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

“Let It Go” earned Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez their first Oscars for best original song. The couple won again four years later for “Remember Me” from Disney’s Coco. The pair also wrote the music for Frozen 2— and the album recently topped Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart.
