Visual concept artist and cyberpunk pioneer Syd Mead has passed away at the age of 86.
Mead is known for working on Sci-Fi films like Disney’s Tron and Tomorrowland.
The news of Mead’s passing reportedly came from John McElroy of Autoline.
McElroy first posted the news on his personal Facebook account:
Mead also worked on projects like Blade Runner, Aliens, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Tomorrowland and Short Circuit.
He was to be honored by the Art Directors Guild next February.
