The coronavirus, also referred to as COVID-19, has already had unprecedented impacts on Disney Parks and resorts… and now things are being taken a step further.
While the major theme parks will be closed through the end of the month (and possibly longer), the company is suspending the Walt Disney World College Program and forcing all participants to move out by Wednesday morning.
College Program cast members were notified of the decision on Saturday.
Those on the college program are expected to “collect their belongings” and move out by March 18, according to the email.
While the decision by Disney is likely turning hundreds of young adults’ lives upside down, there is help available. Frontier Airlines is running a promotion where students fly for free. Tickets must be bought here before March 20th.
Aspiring cast members wishing to enroll in the college program can apply for the fall semester.
Disney recently opened up applications online.
