Disney Suspends Disney Internships and Programs Starting April 18

Disney is suspending the remainder of its internship programs starting April 18th due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

This impacts prospective workers set to arrive through early June for the Disney College Program, International Program, Culinary Program and Cultural Representative Program.

The suspension means those remaining in the Cultural Representative Program, cast members from other countries who typically represent their country in Epcot, will be sent home.

Disney also said that it will invite back its Cultural Representative to complete their program at “a later date.” The company is also amending the eligibility requirements for its programs, including the Disney College Program, so that “those who have already been accepted will be able to reapply…even if they have already graduated.”

Last month, Disney ended the spring version of its Disney College Program early in response to the crisis. Participants were paid through the end of the month but were only given a few days-notice to move out of program housing.
