Disney CEO Bob Chapek says it’s ensuring to see Shanghai Disney Resort open its gates.
He sat down for an exclusive interview with CNBC hours after the grand reopening.
Shanghai Disney Resort is the first Disney park to reopen in wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
Chapek discusses a number of things, including safety precautions, limiting tickets and more.
CNBC pushed him to hint at a timeline for opening domestic parks, but he wouldn’t budge. Chapek says Disney will continue to work with federal, state & local governments as well as area hospitals before making such a big decision. Chapek reiterates the May 20th opening of Disney Springs is a test for the future.
He also says it is likely that both cast members and guests will be required to wear masks at the U.S. parks.
Chapek claims to be happy with the way Shanghai Disney Resort reopened and says cast members and guests are following the safety procedures and standards Disney put in place.
