Florida Governor Ron DeSantis briefly mentioned the current state of theme parks during a Friday afternoon press conference– saying companies can now submit their plans for reopening to state officials.
Governor DeSantis says plans should include safety procedures and protections for employees, a reopening date, and how they will accommodate guests.

No Florida theme parks have yet outlined plans to reopen, however, Universal’s CityWalk reopened on May 14th and Disney Springs is planning a phased reopening May 20th.
In the Friday press conference in Jacksonville, Governor DeSantis also announced the decision to allow restaurants and retails to operate at 50% capacity with proper social distancing measures.
Governor DeSantis says this is part of Florida’s “full Phase 1” reopening plan.
