Orange County Mayor: Disney Has Given Indication They Will Submit Reopening Plans Next Week

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings says a plan for Walt Disney World to reopen is on the horizon.

The three major Orlando theme parks (Disney, Universal and SeaWorld) were expected to submit their reopening plans to the county during a task force meeting today— but only Universal presented their proposal.

The Orange County Economic Task Force approved the plan for Universal to reopen to the public on June 5th unanimously.

Mayor Demings spoke with CNBC about the decision and the future of Disney. He expects Disney to submit their plans next week.

Orange County has published the full meeting from today’s proposal from Universal on their YouTube page:

All plans must be approved by the local government as well as Governor Ron DeSantis.

Disney Springs is currently open, but Disney executives have been tight-lipped about when the parks could open.
