Advanced Safety & Sanitation Protocols Ahead of Walt Disney World Reopening

Walt Disney World is expected to reopen Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom July 11th.

Epcot and Hollywood Studios are expected to reopen July 15th.

Senior VP of Operations Jim MacPhee presenter the company’s proposal in front of the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force today.

He showed a number of safety measures and protocols that will be in place when the property reopens.

Some of the ways Disney will create physical distancing include:

  • Suspending parades and fireworks
  • Limiting attraction capacity
  • Requiring reservation for park entry
  • Closing high-contact areas

The Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force voted to approve Disney’s plan to reopen.

It’s now up to Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and Governor Ron DeSantis to sign off on it.
