Disney Brands Release Statements Standing Against Racism & Social Injustice

Disney brands are standing united with much of America, who is hurting, following the death of George Floyd.

Floyd was killed by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, after Chauvin kneeled on Floyd’s neck and killed him.

Chauvin was fired following the incident, which was caught on camera, and now faces murder charges.

Earlier this morning Bob Iger released a statement to cast members during this time of civil unrest, as protests break out across America.

Now, Disney brands are posting statements on social media to show that they stand with America.

Due to protests and local curfews, Disney Springs will be closing at 7pm for the foreseeable future.

  1. It’s certainly surprising to see Disney do this. I hope they’re honest about it. Part of me is skeptical since there have been racist aspects in Disney movies.
