There Won’t Be Any Cultural Representatives at Epcot’s World Showcase When Park Reopens

When Epcot reopens in July, there won’t be any cultural representatives working in World Showcase.

Many of the employees were furloughed and sent back to their home countries because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Disney has reached an agreement with its union, Unite Here Local 362, to reopen without them for the time being.

“The Parties recognize and agree for the purposes of a reopening and until such time that the Company is able to resume normal staffing, employees who do not meet the culturally authentic theming at EPCOT may be temporarily assigned to work in positions that are otherwise reserved for Cultural Representatives.”

Epcot will open July 15th, along with Hollywood Studios.

Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will reopen July 11th.
