Walt Disney World Files Lawsuit Over Property Taxes

Walt Disney World is suing Orange County Florida’s Property Appraiser Rick Singh over 2019 property taxes.

As the Orlando Sentinel reports, this isn’t the first time.

The lawsuit is over tax assessments for Walt Disney World’s theme parks, resorts, employee buildings and other structures.

Property Appraiser Rick Singh says the Disney complex has been undervalued for years. Disney says it is challenging errors in the assessments.

According to the Disney lawsuits, Singh listed the assessed value for the following:

  • Magic Kingdom: $504 million
  • Epcot: $539 million
  • Hollywood Studios: $394 million
  • Animal Kingdom: $435 million

Walt Disney World is planning for a phased reopening following the coronavirus on July 11, 2020.
