BREAKING: Disneyland Will Not Reopen July 17th; No New Date Announced

In an unprecedented turn of events, Disneyland will not be reopening its parks on July 17th like previously announced.

The company released a statement saying in part:

“California has now indicated that it will not issue theme park reopening guidelines until sometime after July 4.”

However, Downtown Disney District will still reopen on July 9th.

As cast members raise concerned about returning to work in the midst of a pandemic, Disneyland also says the company continues to work with employee unions.

In order to reopen our theme parks we need to negotiate agreements with our unions to return employees to work. We have had positive discussions and are very pleased to have signed agreements from 20 union affiliates, including the Master Services Council, which represents more thna 11,000 of our cast members.

The full statement can be read on the official Disney Parks News Twitter account.
