ESPN: College Basketball Events to Take Place at Walt Disney World in 2020

ESPN is reportedly planning to move several NCAA basketball events to ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World in 2020.

According to an NCAA source cited by ESPN, the company is running 10 nonconference events in November and December, and at least eight of them are expected to take place in Orlando this year.

The Champions Classic, Charleston Classic, Myrtle Beach Invitational, NIT Season Tip-Off, Wooden Legacy, Orlando Invitational, Jimmy V Classic and Diamond Head Classic are expected to move to Walt Disney World.

Walt Disney World has continuously proven the ability to provide a safe environment during the coronavirus pandemic by hosting the MLS is Back tournament and the NBA playoffs simultaneously this summer.

The NCAA events are expected to begin on Nov. 25, the new start date of the 2020-21 college basketball season, and run for the first two weeks of the season.

Specific dates for the events are undetermined right now.
