Disney Parks announced 28,000 layoffs, citing hardships from the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition to the massive amount of layoffs, Disney directed some of the blame at California’s government, saying in part “the state’s unwillingness to lift restrictions that would allow Disneyland to reopen, we have made the very difficult decision to begin the process of reducing our workforce at our Parks, Experiences and Products segment at all levels.

Disney says the 28,000 employees were domestic employees and 67% of them are part-time.
