BREAKING: Disneyland to Reopen April 30; More Than One Year After Closing

Disneyland finally has a reopening date, more than a year after shutting its gates due to the coronavirus pandemic.

CEO Bob Chapek announced the California parks will be reopening April 30th during an interview with CNBC.

More than two weeks ago, California leaders gave theme parks the green light to reopen April 1st with strict safety guidelines.

Disney is opting to get safety measures in place and open April 30th.

Disney is currently offering their new “A Touch of Disney” event at Disney California Adventure. The event features food opportunities and photo-ops.

Disneyland recently cancelled its passholder program, so everyone will need to buy tickets and book reservations for future entries.

Disney says cast members and members of the community will be among the first for return to the magic. For the time being, only California residents will be able to visit.

The Hotels of the Disneyland Resort will undergo a phased reopening. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa plans to reopen on April 29, with limited capacity. Disney Vacation Club Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will plan to reopen May 2. Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and the Disneyland Hotel will reopen at a later date.
