Disney Cruise Line Delays Simulated Voyage Due to “Inconsistent” COVID-19 Results

Disney Cruise Line is delaying its test cruise, also known as a simulated voyage, due to COVID-19 test results.

The Disney Dream was scheduled to sail out of Port Canaveral Tuesday, June 29th for a 2-night cruise with cast member volunteers.

Below is a statement from a Disney Cruise Line spokesperson about the delay:

“We are delaying our simulation cruise due to a small number of inconsistent COVID-19 test results, which are considered positive by the CDC. The rigorous health and safety protocols we have in place helped us identify the situation, though the test results were ultimately negative.”

When the cruise industry reopens, the CDC’s conditional sail order requires at least 98% of crew members to be vaccinated and 95% of guests.

Florida recently won a lawsuit against the CDC, preventing the federal agency from blocking cruise lines from sailing in Florida.

Disney Cruise Line has yet to reschedule a test cruise date.
