Walt Disney World is reimplementing some mask requirement as COVID-19 cases surge across Florida and the U.S.

Beginning July 30th, guests will be required to wear masks indoors and on Disney transportation regardless of vaccination status.

Walt Disney World posted the update on its safety guidance page, which is a live page.

Disney recently dropped the mask mandate, which allowed vaccinated guests to go maskless virtually everywhere besides transportation.

Now, Disney is reversing course, likely due to guidance from Orange County leaders.

According to the county, 61.59% of Orange County residents 12 and older have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The county’s 14-day rolling positivity rate for new COVID-19 cases is 13.96%.

Earlier today, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings declared a local state of emergency due to the rising numbers.
