The foundation has been laid out and the Guardians of the Galaxy are on their way to EPCOT.
Nearly 1,000 trucks’ worth of concrete was poured to create the foundation of what will soon become one of the world’s longest enclosed roller coasters.
The Marvel-themed coaster will expand EPCOT’s Future World with a storyline fronted by Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon and Groot.
This new coaster is expected to be ready for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary (2021).
As guests wait for the new e-ticket attraction, Disney is bringing Star-Lord and Gamora to host the “Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live!” dance part this summer. The event, which is part of the Incredible Summer celebration, runs from June 9 – August 29.
