Frontera Cocina Rolls Out New Baja Menu

Frontera Cocina at Disney Springs is switching this up this summer by adding a new theme of items to the menu.

The Baja menu includes several new dishes.

Baja is one of the most exciting places on Earth. Sure, Cabo is fun, but northern Baja is delicious and beyond belief. Some of the most wonderful seafood dishes in the world come from Ensenada. Mexico’s world class wine comes from Valle de Guadalupe. The hottest chefs in the country have settled there to help forge a new regional cuisine, a contemporary Mexican cuisine that’s both rustic and perfectly in step with what we all love to eat.

Here’s what’s on the new menu:

Starter

  • Crispy Chipotle Calamari ($16)

Entrees

  • Carne Asada & Mojo-Grilled Florida Shrimp ($48)
  • Grilled Florida Pink Shrimp ($29)

Dessert

  • Raspberry-Habanero Cake ($9)

Features Drinks

  • Ni Maiz – Mezcal ilegal espadin blanco, corn juice, Licor 43, lemon and agave nectar, served with spicy worm salt rim and garnished with baby corn ($15)
  • Vuelve A La Vida – Pacifico draft beer, tequila El Velo blanco, lime juice, house-made mix and hot sauce served with candied bacon strip and avocado slice ($16)
  • La Baja Clasica – El Mayor tequila añejo, key lime juice, agave nectar and Sherry wine, rimmed with tortilla ash salt ($14)

Review:

We checked out the new menu and in my option, the most appealing item is the Grilled Florida Pink Shrimp. While the serving size may seem small for the price, it is certainly packed with a ton of flavor and looks identical to the promotion photos above.

Here’s what my dish looked like:

There are a number of different heat/spice factors in this dish that make it addictively spicy. The pepper and crust on the shrimp balances well with the light rice. You also given a lime wedge to add some much-needed acid to the dish.

Like we said, the Baja menu is a bit pricey but seems to continue Frontera Covina’s theme of quality and flavorful food.
