Disney Announces Water Parks Won’t Open Until March 2021

For the first time since the pandemic began, Disney is giving an update on water parks.

In a new update on the Annual Passholder ticket page, the company announced both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon will be closer through the beginning of March 2021.

That will mean they will have been closed nearly a full year.

With these long-term impacts, Disney is also working to give partial refunds to Annual Passholders with the water park option.

While Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park remain closed at this time, pending government approvals, we currently plan to reopen one of the 2 Disney water parks on March 7, 2021. We may adjust our proposed reopening date, and if that happens, we will let Guests know what to expect in a future update. Since Guests can’t visit the Water Parks right now, we will be automatically issuing Platinum Plus and Premier Annual Passholders with water park access a partial refund.

Refunds for impacted passes will be issued automatically.

Disney says Passholders will still include admission to Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course, and if Disney water parks and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex reopen before the pass expires.
