It’s been months since the announcement of a live-action Aladdin film and Disney is finally putting the cast together.
At the D23 Expo 2017, we learned comedian Will Smith will take on the roll as Genie. Meanwhile, Mena Massoud will be playing Aladdin and Naomi Scott will be Jasmine.
Massoud has a short list of acting gigs, which includes projects like:
- Nikita
- Masters of Crime
- Open Heart
- Jack Ryan
Naomi Scott on the other hand, is a bit more well-known and has also played a roll in a previous Disney film. She’s become a star ever since becoming the Pink Ranger in Power Rangers, but also played as Mohini in Disney’s TV movie Lemonade Mouth.

There is still no timeline for when Aladdin will start filming, or when it will hit theaters.
