It’s no secret that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is becoming the new face of Jungle Cruise, for both the movie and the classic Disney parks attraction. What has been a secret is his role in the film, as well as the movie’s plot.
New character breakdowns, acquired by That Hashtag Show, reveal both Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt’s role. Johnson will play Francisco, a.k.a. Frank and Blunt will play Lily Houghton. Frank is described as “witty riverboat captain cursed with immortality” who accompanies Lily on her river-based expedition. Lily is described at a “spunky scientist” who is searching for the Tree of Life: a mystical tree that supposedly has magical curing powers.
Jungle Cruise is expected to start production sometime in May 2018.
